Non-Profit Assistance Program

Giving Back to Our Community

At Midland Web Crafters, we believe in giving back to the community that supports us. That's why we're launching our Non-Profit Assistance Program—offering one free custom website per year to a deserving Midland-area non-profit organization.

This isn't a template site or a quick fix. It's a full custom website built with the same care and craftsmanship we give to our paying clients. Because non-profits deserve professional web presence too, and we want to help amplify the incredible work you're doing in our community.

What You Get

A Complete Custom Website

  • Fully custom design tailored to your organization's mission and brand
  • Mobile-responsive (works perfectly on phones, tablets, and desktops)
  • Fast loading times and optimized performance
  • Easy-to-update content management system
  • SEO basics to help people find you online
  • Contact forms and donation integration (if needed)

This is the same quality work we do for our paying clients. No shortcuts, no templates—just honest craftsmanship that reflects the importance of your mission.

Ongoing Support

We'll train your team on how to update content, and we're available for questions. We want this website to work for you long-term, not just launch and disappear.

Plus, we'll feature your organization in our portfolio (with your permission), which helps us both—you get visibility, and we get to showcase the community impact we're proud to support.

Eligibility Requirements

501(c)(3) Non-Profit Status

You must be a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Serving Midland, Michigan Area

Your organization must primarily serve the Midland, Michigan area or surrounding communities.

Clear Mission & Impact

You have a clear mission and can demonstrate the positive impact your organization makes in the community.

Need for a Website

You either don't have a website, or your current website is outdated and not serving your organization well.

Commitment to Maintain

You have someone on your team who can commit to learning basic content updates (we'll provide training).

How to Apply

Application Period

Applications are accepted year-round, but we select one recipient annually. The selection process typically happens in the fall, with the website project beginning shortly after.

We'll review applications and select the organization that best aligns with our values and demonstrates the greatest need and potential impact.

What to Include

When you apply, please provide:

  • Your organization's name
  • Your 501(c)(3) EIN number
  • Your organization's mission
  • The community or area you serve
  • Examples of your impact (programs, events, services you provide)
  • Why you need a new website and how it would help your organization
  • Contact information (name, email, and optional phone)
  • Any specific features or functionality needed (optional)

Selection Criteria

We'll evaluate applications based on:

  • Demonstrated community impact and need
  • Alignment with our values (supporting small businesses, community growth, local impact)
  • Clear vision for how a website would help your organization
  • Organizational capacity to maintain and utilize the website
  • Geographic focus on Midland and surrounding areas

What's Not Included

To be transparent, here's what the non-profit assistance program doesn't cover:

  • Domain name registration: You'll need to purchase your domain (typically $10-$15/year)
  • Hosting: You'll need to pay for hosting (typically $10-$20/month)
  • Ongoing maintenance: Basic content updates are included in training, but major changes or additions may incur costs
  • Third-party services: Any paid integrations (like advanced email marketing tools) would be your responsibility

We'll help you set up hosting and domain registration, and we'll guide you through the process. But these are ongoing costs that your organization will need to budget for (they're minimal, but important to mention upfront).

Project Timeline

Once selected, here's what to expect:

1

Initial Meeting

We'll meet to discuss your organization, goals, and vision for the website

2

Planning Phase

We'll create a plan and get your input on design direction

3

Development

We'll build your custom website (typically 4-6 weeks)

4

Review & Revisions

You'll review the site and request any changes

5

We'll train your team on how to update content
